Where are you from?
North Augusta, South Carolina

What was it like growing up in the South?
Sweet Tea, Pine Trees and church on Sundays.and on Wednesdays. We had bible study at my house.

Who were the guys that you grew up skating with?
Joel Mealing, Mike Greer, Brian Howard and Anthony furlong

Where do you live currently?
In a basement in Portland

What brought you up to Portland?
Bacon skateboards and naturally the terrain. I was talking to Sage the other week and he was telling me about the 18 parks that are being or going to be built in the Portland area. If Pier Park is an example of what they are building it is insanity, where will they go next?.... I want to be there to skate all of it.

What do you think makes Bacon different from the other skate companies out there?
Colin and Ethan… they actually ride skateboards and they are interested in making business happen.

How many years have you been skating in the World Cup Bowl riders series?
I think that the first Oregon Trifecta was the deciding factor for the Bowl Rider series, but there have been contests at concrete parks in Europe for years. Marseille, I think, was the origin of the crazy concrete contest, or the rebirth of. I feel that I am fortunate to have gone to the last three events there in France. There is just something special about that place. There has been a contest in Austria for a few years as well. Brixlegg was like the bigger sister of the Marseille event as far as park size goes. Now the Quick event is held in Malmo, Sweden.

The bowl rider events can get crazy. How would you describe those contests to someone who's never seen one?
It could be described as a six man wrestling match on wheels crossed with the Blue Angles.

What are some the coolest places you have skated on the tour?
Well always my home is first on the list and that is the Charleston Hanger bowl. Then there is the Bird Flu in Albuquerque, Hogan’s in Fresno and its replica in Sarasota, the Ghetto banks in Alabama. Two of the coolest people that we met on tour were Brian from Ride skateboards in Alabaster and Stoney in Oklahoma. At Stoney’s we shot guns well into the night. The guys shot off all the fireworks that I had been hording. They found them while I was ripping holes a car.

What was the mission on the Southern Slaughter Tour?
I think that out mission on the tour was to skate period. Oh and get the word out about Bacon!!!

What were some of the best stops on the tour?
Loretta in North Georgia by far… hands down. Man other than hospitality you can’t weigh one stop over another. The whole tour was a blast. Just watch the video. Ha ha

What was the craziest thing that happened on the tour?
Me getting arrested in Georgia ‘cause Skreech shot me in the face with an Airsoft gun in a gas station parking lot!!!

Who are the skaters that inspire you these days?
Chris Miller, Skreech & The Skrotes...You know who you are!

What are your plans for 07'?
I think that I want to skate, go to Europe, and enjoy myself. Maybe put some roots down in Oregon. Skate, have fun. What else is there?

Great article! I'm a big fan of Benji's from back in the Boone days! I met him through my roommate, Brandon. If you are reading this, look me up if you are ever in Greenville, NC. I see you ripping pools all the time on FuelTV. Keep up the good work!
