Harsh Hill Bomb
City sent Dave Bachinsky and I to judge a local contest and do a demo in Oregon a few years ago. We saw some hills near our hotel and decided to charge them. I was going about 35 mph when an old man pulls out in front of me out of his driveway. I panicked, tried to put my foot down and fully tripped myself. I fell head-first and slid like 10 feet in some gravel. Harsh Hill Bomb City sent Dave Bachinsky and I to judge a local contest and do a demo in Oregon a few years ago. Fractured
I was skating a rail back in my hometown of St. Paul and I wanted to do a back Smith. The first few tries were good then, one time, I stuck on the very top fell to the ground sideways and stuck out my arm to catch my fall. It bent like a bow and fractured one of the bones. I never got a cast and hurt the same one a few months later, dumb!

Toe Jam
This was the worst one ever. I tried to back tail this ledge over a dirt gap with a head-high drop at the end. I slipped out really bad. My chest broke my fall but it sent my foot into the ground toes first like a tomahawk dislocating my big toe. I had to wear this cast I had left over from my ankle trouble so when I walked my toe wouldn’t move.

CENTER

Handlebarred
In middle school my friends and I used to build sweet jumps for our bikes. One day we stacked five tires up to jump over. When my turn came, I didn’t make it far enough and clipped my back tire. That sent me into a front flip and my chest went straight into my handle bars breaking two ribs and splitting my chin wide open. I got sick a few days after and every time I coughed it was like being stabbed.

Sack Attack
The Pat Duffy kinked rail in SF got me so good. I was trying to half-Cab boardslide the rail but I hesitated bad and missed my pop. I floated down the whole set and landed on the kink on my nuts. I was too short to reach the ground so, after the sack, I scorpioned and lost a shoe in the chaos. I had some nasty cuts on my junk as well.

Busted Grill
I slipped out on a back lip down a double set rail. When I hit the ground, my tail was under my foot sending my board right up into my two front teeth. One tooth broke in half and the other was pushed back in my mouth like an inch. I still landed the trick the same night though. Ears’ dentist hooked me up and fixed my smile for only $200. Thanks for that!

High Sticking
Playing hockey after school one day, there was a scuffle in the corner for the puck and someone’s stick slashed me across the face. My tooth pierced right through my lip. I still have a blue spot on my lip to this day.

RIGHT SIDE

Knee-Jerk Reaction
The same rail I broke my wrist on makes the list again. This time I was trying to backside noseblunt the thing. I stuck and fell back but I landed straight legged and just tweaked my knee a little. When it happened, I didn’t really feel anything wrong but after I sat down for 10 minutes, I knew something was wrong. My family doc told me it was just a sprain and physical therapy would help me get it going again.

Tibia-tastic
Don’t ever skate when you are already hurt. My ankle was already jacked and I was still skating with an ankle brace on. Like a fool, I tried to front board an eight-stair rail and my shit just blew out. My whole leg from the knee down was purple for two months. The jerk doctor also told me I should consider taking up rollerblading because it’s less dangerous. What a loser.

Brush Your Shoulders Off When I was 17, I was skating at 3rd Lair and some BMX dude ran me over at full speed. My shoulder popped out. I thought it healed fine but six months ago I was playing catch with my little sister and when I threw the ball something just gave. Now I’m worried about it all the time.
