Adidas Skateboarding and EA Games Collaborate

Adidas Skateboarding makes another first, this time with EA Sports upcoming video game release, "skate," which is slated for release in Fall 2007. Gamers will be able to earn points toward gaining access to a virtual environment with the chance to purchase (from in game to real life) limited edition shoes from Adidas.

These special edition pro-model shoes feature unique designs from Mark Gonzales and Dennis Busenitz are available exclusively through playing skate. Gamers can find hidden triggers within the game and access a secret code to purchase the shoes on www.shopadidas.com and with only 500 pairs each, they’ll surely be going fast.

The Gonz and Busenitz pro-models, called Superstars and Gazelle's, are available only through EA's skate and include 80s-style video game text on the side and insole, and best of all - a picture of the Gonz and Busenitz seen through the transparent rubber soles.

SKATE revolutionizes the video game landscape with innovative controls that take advantage of the dual analog sticks, the power of next generation hardware, and the ability to sculpt tricks that define your own style. SKATE delivers a more realistic skating experience than any game before it.

Gamers will be able to vary their skate style and will have the freedom to decide how the skater looks, feels, and rides. With realistic scenarios like getting chased by security guards, impressing and/or annoying the citizens in San Vanelona, the town in the game which reacts to the player, EA offers a slice of reality to the virtual skating experience. Skaters can choose how they want to progress within the game, whether it’s to become famous and generate mainstream hype or go the infamous route by outrunning security guards, owning spots and building street standing. Games can capture their best moves in the game and bring them online for the world to see by using online video editing tools and adding music to create the ultimate skate video.

SKATE will feature professional legends and upcoming pros including: Mark Gonzales, Dennis Busenitz, Danny Way, Rob Dyrdek, Mike Carroll, P.J. Ladd, Chris Cole, Jason Dill, Pat Duffy, Jerry Hsu, Paul Rodriguez, Alex Chalmers, Chris Haslam, Colin McKay, John Rattray, Ryan Gallant, Ryan Smith and Terry Kennedy.
