3/22/07 – Chicago based Jessup Manufacturing is proud to announce the addition of skateboard phenom P.J. Ladd as it’s first new pro. Jessup Manufacturing has been producing premium skateboard specific griptape since 1975. Currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, Patrick John (PJ) Ladd hails from Rockland, Massachusetts, where he began skating in 1990. Known for his mastery of high-speed technical tricks PJ is currently a part of the infamous Plan B team. PJ Ladd exploded onto the skateboard scene in 2002 with the release of “Wonderful Horrible Life” which featured him executing high-speed mind-bending flip tricks never before seen. P.J. is an extremely well rounded skater, skating vert ramps, bowls, flatland, ledges, and rails with a level of enthusiasm and commitment rarely seen. Only to be out done by himself, PJ won the first pro contest he entered, The Finnish Open in Helsinki. His skill and technique has only grown. Starring in over 16 skate videos and placing in numerous skate contests over the last four years, PJ Ladd has anchored himself as one of the new school of technical pros pushing skateboarding beyond it’s current limits. “I have always skated on Jessup grip. I am stoked to be apart of their team. I’m glad that I can help spread the word that Jessup Griptape is the original. and still the best,” stated PJ on his newly adopted sponsor.

“We are excited to have PJ as our first new pro, he definitely represents the future of skateboarding. We are looking forward to PJ being a long term brand ambassador to a new generation of skateboarders,” stated Bud Smith of Jessup.
