Tony Hawk Helps Muhammad Ali In Fight Against Parkinson's Disease Annual Muhammad Ali charity event features Tony Hawk auction item.

3/24/07 (Phoenix, AZ) Tony Hawk was himself auctioned off in the fight against Parkinson's disease and to promote the development of public skateparks in low-income areas. At Muhammad Ali's annual Celebrity Fight Night
(http://celebrityfightnight.org/) charity event, guests bid in the live auction to win a chance to visit Hawk at his private California training facility and see him and a host of X Games champions skate the immense Boom Boom HuckJam ramp. During the auction, Hawk spiced up the item by convincing his friend and Olympic snowboarding gold medalist Shaun White, who was in the audience, to join him on-stage and add his name to the demo roster.

The gala CFN event was a star-studded evening hosted by Reba McEntire and featured performers Donna Summer, Neil Sedaka, and Michael Buble. The evening's honorees included Donald Trump, NBA MVP Steve Nash, NFL hall-of-famer John Elway, and actor Sharon Stone.

Two lucky guests won the prized visit to Hawk HQ in the live auction, raising a combined $160,000 for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute and the Tony Hawk Foundation. Their visit to Hawk's corporate headquarters will include a catered lunch for ten, a tour of the facility that houses his SIRIUS satellite radio studio, the 900 Films video-production facilities, the Tony Hawk Foundation offices, and his Boom Boom HuckJam ramp, on which Hawk and a cast of X Games champions will perform.

This rare opportunity to visit Tony Hawk at his personal training facility and see him skate will only be offered once more this year. An auction benefiting the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial (http://rfkmemorial.org/) and the Tony Hawk Foundation is currently offering a visit to Hawk HQ, and will close April 6, 2007 at 3 PM (EST).

In 2006 Tony was honored at Celebrity Fight Night XII for his work through the Tony Hawk Foundation to promote public skateparks in low-income areas.

A charitable, non-profit organization, the Tony Hawk Foundation was established in 2002 by its namesake, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, to promote and provide funds for high-quality public skateparks throughout the United States—with an emphasis on the word "quality." Since then, the Foundation has awarded $1,502,334 to 313 communities. The Foundation focuses on working with local officials and grassroots, community-based organizations that plan to hire designers and contractors with strong experience designing and building skateparks.

The Tony Hawk Foundation was established by a gift from Tony Hawk. Its directors raise additional funds through events, industry donations, and continuing contributions from Tony and other entities. In addition to skateparks, the Foundation also makes donations to other children-related charities, as chosen by its Board Of Directors. For more information or to make a donation, visit the Foundation's Web site at www.tonyhawkfoundation.org.
